CVFA Event Participation (post 7/1/2010)

For those interested in the future of the Cedar Valley Fighting Association events as a participant, this is the information directly out of the government bill

You will not be allowed to participate if:

90.4 A Section 6 c: a contestant “fails to pass a prefight physical examination.”
90A.12 Section 3 “unless the contestant is eighteen years of age or older. Each contestant shall submit to the commissioner a certified birth certificate, or similar document, validating the contestant's date of birth prior to the match in order to verify the contestant's eligibility.”

Please remember when reviewing this, we are not lawyers and this information may be incorrect in the case there is an amendment that is not reflecting in this documentation or any changes made after this update.

For your reference there are additional requirements for professional boxers in regards to registration, but as that this is considered a different sport, this has not amended to include in our participants.

Please understand this is based on the laws documented as of May 2, 2010. There is consideration for grappling events specificially after the law change, but only if there is enough desire to participate in these types of events.

Our first event of this type will be in Rudd on the 26th at 11am. Please contact us at (319) 438-2832 if you are intersted in more information and/or want clarification. Please understand there may be some delay in responce so please clarify you are wanting information for the grappling match specificially to ensure we answer your questions clearly.
